Available throughout the Toronto District and Peel Region, this program aims to offer student-athletes a flexible school schedule, accommodating their training and educational needs.

The RHA HP Program is designed to prepare athletes for elite competition, balancing four critical performance factors. By concentrating on enhancing their physical prowess, technical skills, strategic understanding, and mental toughness, we aim to provide athletes with a competitive advantage. By teaching and practicing technical elements, we prepare players for the high demands of modern hockey, creating a solid foundation for their further development. In the second stage, continuing the efforts started in phase 1, players learn to apply the technical elements they’ve mastered in game-like conditions, focusing on their practical use. This level’s drills are designed to simulate real game situations that athletes encounter during matches. Training is conducted against obstacles, simulate opponents. This approach allows for an increased number of pressure-free repetitions, enabling athletes to refine their abilities, enhance their confidence, and sharpen their techniques.

In this advanced stage of the training program, the focus shifts towards enhancing decision-making skills, with an emphasis on the nuances of 1-on-1 situations, gaining, and maintaining possession. The key objective is to develop a player’s ability to stay calm and make the correct decisions under pressure enhancing players’ ability to impact the game by winning individual battles and set plays effectively.

Hockey-Specific Athleticism Training. Become Faster on the Ice.

The off-ice program targets developing Hockey Stance, Stride Mechanics, and weight transfer, focusing on specific movement techniques and patterns crucial for enhancing performance and preventing injuries. The Hockey-Specific Athleticism Training component is designed to strengthen key attributes necessary for hockey. This includes building lower body strength for effective skating, upper body strength for shooting, improving core stability, and enhancing agility, speed, endurance, and flexibility for overall on-ice maneuverability and injury prevention.

Advanced Puck Control & Deceptions.

Focus on improving all types on puck control movent in combination with proper hockey stance, stride mechanics weight transfer and upper body fakes to develop. RHA Coaches will guide players with most efficient techniques to form right habits. All the movement will be trained in motion to maximise on-ice transferability.

Improve Shooting Mechanics Training

Focusing on improving shooting mechanics for various shots under RHA specialist guidance. It covers techniques for wrist shots, snap shots, slap shots, backhand shots, and quick releases. Additionally, it integrates elements that enhance the ability to shoot effectively in game situations, such as creating shooting lanes. This comprehensive approach aims to significantly improve shooting skills in practical, game-like contexts.

Alex Ivanov Hockey Skills Development Coach

Alex Ivanov is high performance hockey skills development specialist for professional athletes in Toronto. As an expert in the discipline of «Professional and Olympic Athletic Hockey Skill Development» Alex bring 12 years of Pro Hockey experience from the top leagues in Europe and Russia and integrate it in RHA Hockey Skills Development System in order to help players to achieve peak performance. Alex has trained many athletes into the NHL, AHL, OHL NCAA, KHL.

Recently retired professional hockey player.  Born and played his career in Russia with 10 years of professional hockey experience and over 260 games Pro. His professional hockey career began in the MHL and extended to the VHL and KHL.
