Summer Off-Ice Performance Boost Program

Hockey Player off-ice training, strength and conditioning

Unleash Player’s Full Potential:
Fill the Missing Gap in Hockey Training.

Take your summer camp training to the next level with our 5-day Off-Ice Performance Boost Programdesigned to complement and enhance your on-ice development.

Most hockey programs overlook a critical piece of athlete development: movement mechanics, stability, and motor control. Without addressing these off the ice, players often hit a plateau—no matter how many hours they skate.

This intensive program resets and refines these fundamentals to help players:

  • Skate faster with better stride mechanics

  • Shoot harder with proper body alignment and power transfer

  • React quicker and move more efficiently in game situations

When added alongside your summer camp, this off-ice program creates a powerful combination that unlocks faster skill acquisition and greater confidence on the ice.

Fix the root causes. Build smarter movement. Get ahead.
Join us this summer and see how focused off-ice training can make a measurable difference.

The Missing Element: Why Off-Ice Training?

Investing time in off-ice shooting development has a profound effect on a player’s on-ice performance. By focusing on refining shooting mechanics away from the pressures and variables of a game setting, players can make significant improvements that directly translate to better performance during matches.

Unaddressed Weaknesses:

Sometimes on-ice drills alone fall short because underlying movement issues remain unaddressed.

Hidden Performance Secrets:

Proper biomechanics, mobility, and stability make a dramatic difference in stride power, puck handling, and injury prevention.

Immediate Skill Boost:

Correcting these deficits doesn’t just enhance agility and strength—it supercharges a player’s ability to learn advanced on-ice skills.

Performance Boost Solution: A 3-Part Training Approach

This 5-day off-ice regimen is designed to correct movement deficiencies, develop neuromuscular control, and reinforce proper biomechanics so players can rapidly improve their on-ice skills. Each daily session lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, broken into three strategic blocks: Activation, Main Block, and Skills Integration.

Activation & Mobility (Approx. 15 minutes)

Prime the body for intense movement by improving joint mobility and engaging stabilizing muscles.

Heighten body awareness and neuromuscular responsiveness.

Main Block : Functional Strength & Speed (Approx. 40 minutes)

Develop functional strength, explosiveness, and movement control while reinforcing proper biomechanics.

Address underlying mobility/stability deficits so players have a strong foundation for advanced skills.

Hockey Skills Integration:

Transfer improved movement quality directly into hockey-specific skills—stickhandling, shooting mechanics, and puck control.

Build both foundational and more advanced skills—including deception moves, fakes, and various shooting techniques—that give players a competitive edge on the ice.

Location: Our off-ice sessions will take place at Canlan York, in the facility located above the dressing rooms on the second level.

Players should bring a hockey stick, gloves, a water bottle, and comfortable athletic clothing suitable for off-ice training.
