About Summer Weekly Skills Development Program
Skills Development + Game Situations
RHA Weekly Skills Hockey training program is designed to help players to develop hockey skills along with teaching them how to apply specific hockey elements in-game situations.
Complete player development implies not only improving technical aspects of the moving patterns but to be able to recognize situations when and how to use specific elements in the game against the opponent.
RHA helps to transfer improved skills to game situations through Battles & Puck Protection training sessions. Incorporation of skills in tight area game situation battle drills will boost skill development, hockey IQ, and confidence during games.

Program Structure
Increasingly Challenging Phases
RHA Weekly Skills Hockey training program builds to provide development of all skills components players need in the game situations. Each training cycle consists of 3 phases: Skills development + game situations, puck protection & battles, skills under pressure + game situations.
At first, players sharpen their skills to execute the correct technique. After the technique is corrected, we raise the speed and build in-game situation drills. The second step is to learn puck protection skills, how to play physical and body checking. The third step is to start applying skills under pressure to transfer skills to the game.
Practice Structure
Applying Skills To The Game
The highest level of program efficiency is achieved by the two-stage practice structure. The first stage is technical, focused on player specific skill development by multiple repetitions corrected by RHA coaches.
The second stage is practical, where players are learning how and where in the game they can use the skill they were working on the first part of the practice.
This practice structure gives players not only movement patterns but also a complete understanding of how specific skills can be used in different game situations building players’ hockey IQ and confidence in the game.
